How To Deal With Those Lazy Days

We all have those days when we wake up with second day hair and no time to waste. I’m going to walk you through what to do when you wake up late and look like a mess, so to speak. First off people commonly make the mistake to hop in the shower when rushing but that will just make you more late than you already are so here are a few tricks.

Hair:

There are a couple of different options when your having one of those bad hair days. The most obvious is to throw on a cute hat and your good to go. However, if you aren’t going to such a casual place then your best option is to use a dry shampoo, which is a legitimate life saver when you have second day hair. My favorite is Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo. My favorite hair style for these types of days are a top knot. First you pull all your hair up in a high ponytail (I’m talking all the way to the top!). Side note: If you would like to tease your hair before putting it up in the ponytail that will give it more volume. Place your hair doughnut through the ponytail and wrap the hair around it whilst securing it with bobby pins and don’t forget the hairspray.

Make-up:

No time! No time! That is always my initial thought because when I’m truly running late I just skip this step. However, when I have five or so minutes to spare I use a bit under eye concealer and a white eyeliner in my tight line to brighten my eyes. Don’t forget the mascara because that really helps to open up the eyes. The key is to look like you are not exhausted when we all know we just want to go back to bed! Optional: If you have a wee bit extra time do your brows to frame that beautiful face of yours and throw on some lipstick and you got a ready to go face.

Outfit:

I am usually very good with picking my outfit out the night before but sometimes I forget. So, when these occasions come up I usually stick to something very comfortable and simple. Leggings are my best friend but again, if you need something a little less casual go with jeans. Some brown or black boots add an “I actually tried” look. For your top, stick with a comfy sweater and a chunky scarf. Skip the accessories and head out that door but try not to rush too much!

Fashion 101: Fall Must Haves

The leaves are officially falling, Starbucks red cups are back, and Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away so you know what that means…Fall is here! As sad as I am to put my bikinis and big floppy sun hats away for the season, I am just as excited to take out my scarves and boots! So if your wondering what is the fall essentials of 2013 keep reading to find out what every girl should have in their closet this season.

Hats:

Hats are so essential for fall and winter because not only do they keep your head nice and warm but their super cute and trendy. I have seen so many beanies lately I just had to jump on the band wagon because not only are they really cute they add a casual feel to any outfit.

Scarves:

Boy do I love scarves. My favorite are infinity scarves because you just throw it on and you look effortlessly fashionable. I prefer big chunky cable knit scarves in neutral colors like heather grey or a muted purple. They go with anything and everything but if you don’t like infinity scarves stick with the classic type scarves. There are so many different ways to style them!

  Leggings:

The greatest invention of all time was leggings. For me a pair of black leggings is an absolute necessity really all year round but especially for fall because you throw on that and an oversized sweater and your good to go.

Boots:

Shoes! There are so many different types of boots it would take months listing them all! Personally, I enjoy brown or black tie up type boots which add a bit of edge to any outfit.

Coats:

The last item you absolutely need to have for fall is a great coat. I have a couple that I wear all the time, such as a dark blue leather one with a hood (side note: I’m obsessed with leather jackets with hoods!). I also have a classic NorthFace jacket which are a life saver for the colder months, and my last favorite is an army green coat that adds a hippie flare to your outfit.

What are your Fall must haves for 2013?
